About Coastal Counseling Center
Coastal Counseling Center
In the Winter of 2004, a group of community leaders saw the need for counseling
services for persons in the Camden community who were unable to afford mental
health counseling.  They formed a board and began planning for a community-
oriented counseling center.  With funding to get started, Coastal Counseling
Center is able to provide
counseling with care for the community.

Lila McDill, M.Ed., LPC

Founder
Coastal Counseling
In Memory of Our Founder
Lila McDill
Miss Lila was an exceptional woman.  At age 53,
she founded the Children's School in Atlanta.
After she retired from education in 1979, she
became a therapist and practiced in the Atlanta
area.

She moved to Camden County and began
practicing in St Marys.  When the local community
service board moved all adult services to
Brunswick, Miss Lila believed something should
be done to fill the gap.  At age 87, she founded
Coastal Counseling Center with four other
community residents.  We owe great tribute to
this wonderful lady!
