COST:

Whether a person voluntarily enters the group or is mandated by the legal system, the Anger Resolution group
is open to anyone wishing to better improve his or her anger concerns.  For individuals mandated by the legal
system, the costs are as follows:

  • Assessment Fee:  The assessment fee is $75.00.  This fee is due during the time of the assessment.

  • Group Fees:  There is a flat rate of $25.00 per group (there are five group sessions).

  • Total Costs:  The total for the assessment plus five groups is $200.00.  All fees must be paid in full
before any letter of completion is forwarded to a requesting agency (e.g., DFCS, probation, court).

  • Important:  Mere attendance at each group does not ensure "successful completion."  Verbal
participation and completed homework assignments must be completed as well.
About Confidentiality . . .

When a person comes for a mandated assessment and anger
treatment, the therapist will ask for a signed release of
information between Coastal Counseling Center and the
mandating entity (e.g., a probation officer).  This limited
release will inform the mandating entity know that a person
has completed the assessment and will participate in the
anger resolution group.  Upon successful completion of the
group, a form will be submitted to that entity informing them
that the client has successfully completed the group (or not).

Confidentiality in the Group . . .

Group members are asked to abide by a simple rule of group:
Group members are
prohibited to disclose names of other
group members to anyone outside of the group.

IMPORTANT:

Coastal Counseling Center does not
provide assessment for anger without
group (class) counseling.  All persons
mandated by the legal system will have
both an assessment and group (class)
counseling.
"The program will work if
you work the program;
the program does not
work by itself!"

Disclaimer:  Coastal Counseling Center is not associated with any part of the legal system (e.g., judges,
probation officers, law enforcement).  Each system has its own requirements.  Therefore, an assessment
and treatment does not necessarily guarantee completion of all requirements made by those referral
sources.

About the Anger Resolution Group . . .

Coastal Counseling Center's Anger program differs from other programs in that we
focus upon anger resolution.  Participants will learn at least twenty-three (23)
different anger management strategies; however, specific emphasis is placed upon
resolving the conflict within the relationship.

Successful Completion . . .

Successful completion of the group involves:  (1) Attendance at each group, (2)
Verbal participation in the group and, (3) Completion of assignments
before the
next group session and, (4) Reading the handout in its entirety before the next
group session.

How Do I Know If I Need To Participate . . .

Have you ever been angry?  Does a judge or probation officer say you need to
complete the group?  If the answer is YES to either question, then you qualify.
How To Get Started:

The first step is to call (729-1120) to schedule an
    assessment.  This assessment is comprehensive,
including, physical, medical, emotional, relational, social,
spiritual, educational, and vocational concerns.  Once the
    assessment is complete,

The second step is starting in the anger resolution group.
Generally, the group meets one night a week (5:30-7:00)
for five sessions.  Once a group is formed and meets the
first night, the group is closed for the next five sessions.
A new group will form after the current group is completed.
